Providing outstanding dental care is Chew Dental's top priority. We want all of our patients to be happy with their smiles, which is why we provide teeth whitening in Fremont, CA. With our in-office teeth whitening procedure, you'll see noticeably whiter teeth with just one visit!
Is It Worth Getting Your Teeth Whitened at the Dentist?
Yes, getting your teeth whitened at the dentist is worth it! We know we're a bit biased, but we promise you'll love your smile after you get your teeth whitened with Dr. Chew!
You've probably seen all of the over-the-counter teeth whitening kits you can buy at your local drugstore. While some of these products may be somewhat effective, if you want guaranteed results in as little time as possible, professional, in-office teeth whitening done by a dentist is the best choice.
While getting your teeth whitened at the dentist is more expensive than at-home whitening kits, you'll get long-lasting results in as little time as possible. Plus, our dental office in Fremont, CA is full of experienced staff members who conduct cosmetic dentistry procedures on a daily basis so, safe to say, you're in good hands here at Chew Dental Group!
How Long Does Teeth Whitening Last?
In general, teeth whitening tends to last anywhere from 2-4 years. There are a few factors that affect how long teeth whitening lasts — if you consume food and drink that easily stains your teeth such as red wine, coffee, tea, or tobacco, it likely won't last as long.
It also depends on how white you want your teeth to be! Some people prefer to get their teeth whitened every year or two, while others are fine going a bit longer in between treatments.
In-Office Teeth Whitening Procedure in Fremont, CA
Chew Dental Group uses BriteSmile® for our in-office teeth whitening services. This is a whitening system that restores the natural color of your teeth quickly and safely! It's able to whiten your teeth by up to 14 shades in just one hour.
Here's how it works:
We'll thoroughly examine and clean your teeth, getting rid of any buildup of plaque.
A hardening resin is applied to your gums so they won't be irritated by the whitening gel.
We'll apply the teeth whitening gel (which contains a 15 or 25% concentration of hydrogen peroxide) to your teeth.
Once the gel is applied, we use a blue light to set the gel for 20 minutes.
We'll remove the gel, reapply it, and use the blue light for another 20 minutes. We repeat this process twice, for a total of around one hour of treatment time.
That's it! We'll compare your before and after shades to see how much lighter your teeth are post-treatment!
One thing to note about the BriteSmile® treatment is that your teeth might look dramatically white right after treatment, but this is due to mild dehydration. The actual color of your teeth will appear in about 48 hours, after your teeth have the chance to rehydrate.
